For several years, Netop has worked with Toshiba to build a solution that enables secure remote access into point-of-sale systems running the Toshiba 4690 operating system. In addition to supporting Windows-based point-of-sale systems, Linux devices and other in-store technology, Netop Remote Control is certified for use with Toshiba 4690.
Every year, we join our partners at Toshiba, their business partners and clients to discuss trends in retail technology at Toshiba Connect. This year, our Product Solutions Director, Sam Heiney, joined our sales directors, Paula Stolhand and Abram Holmlund, in Las Vegas. Our team was showcasing how Netop Remote Control could create a secure, PCI-compliant connection into point-of-sales devices. Netop extends the graphical interface of the 4690 system to support technicians and managements, allows specialized keyboard shortcuts and enables access to sub-menus. With Netop, central office personnel gain fully-encrypted access to their stores’ back offices.
Wrapping up the 2016 Toshiba Connect and settling in for the conference-ending concert by the B-52s, we’re already thinking ahead to next year’s event. Over the coming months, we’ll be working with Toshiba and their clients to build additional functionality – including self-serve terminal access – into Netop Remote Control for 4690 while we continue to grow our device support.
