Netop Remote Control Portal - May Update
On May 11, 2020, we are updating the Virtual Private Cloud accounts for the Netop Remote Control Portal. This update is focused on improving the user experience and includes a variety of changes, enhancements and new features.
The update will be available to standard Netop Remote Control Portal accounts on May 18, 2020.
See the status of your users
A status indicator has been added to the list of users in the portal. A small colored circle in front of the user’s name shows when they are online (solid green circle), when they are offline (hollow green circle), and which users have been set to inactive (hollow red circle). User status has been added to the filters so you can quickly and easily select all the users who meet the condition you specify.
Configure the remote control button on the My devices page
You can now configure the default action for remote control buttons on the My devices page. Choose to launch a remote control session from the installed Guest application or from the browser based support console.
Account administrators can set the default behavior for everyone in their account from the Account > Configuration screen.
Individual users can change the default behavior for themselves by editing My Profile from their individual user profile menu.
Fit to screen for the Browser Based Support Console
With the May 18 update, the Browser Based Support Console will also be improved so that remote sessions will automatically scale to fit the screen of the browser window. A button will be added to the toolbar allowing the Portal user to change this setting from "Fit to screen" to "Actual size".
OnDemand sessions are faster and easier
When an OnDemand session is created from the My Sessions page, the “CREATE AN ONDEMAND SESSION” screen will automatically close once the remote user accepts the session. Most Portal users won’t even notice this change, but the result is a simplified user experience and faster resolution times.
Finally, we’ve updated text on a variety of different screens to make it easier to navigate the Portal and understand the context surrounding specific actions.
