Netop has been a leader in human to machine connectivity for over three decades. Our remote control, online chat and classroom management solutions have maximized the value of computers in customer service and educational settings. As the wired universe has expanded to include unattended devices - things like sensors, industrial controls, building automation systems, on-board diagnostic systems - we have evolved our solutions to better accommodate access into unattended devices.
Now, Netop is taking the next step in that evolution by releasing our SecureM2M solution. Netop SecureM2M is the easy way to create secure, multi-platform access into unattended networked devices. Since it is designed to allow application-specific access, SecureM2M is ideal for managing access by vendors and other out-of-band support agents. Netop SecureM2M allows you to:
- Quickly access remote, networked devices
- Remove devices from the public-facing Internet
- Restrict access to specific ports and applications
- Connect legacy devices
When the hackers who hit Target in 2013 accessed core business systems through the HVAC system they exploited a weakness that we have been studying for the past few years - namely, that networked devices often can present a network security vulnerability. Working with our partners at Lynxspring, we created a solution for managing remote access into HVAC and building automation systems, LYNX CyberPro. Our SecureM2M solution extends that secure connectivity to SCADA systems and other industrial controls. Because it is designed to work in low-bandwidth and high-latency environments, Netop SecureM2M is the solution of choice for maritime and other satellite-connected deployments.
We will be taking SecureM2M with us as we hit the road in April - participating in the HDI Conference, Hannover Messe 2014 and Toshiba Connect. Stay tuned to this blog or our Twitter feed for dates and locations - we look forward to showing you how Netop can help you securely connect devices on the Internet of Things.
