Although dwarfed by iPads, commercial adoption of Android tablets is slowly growing. Android tablets represented 10% of the enterprise tablet deployments in Q2 of 2014 and 11% in Q3, according to Good Technology’s Good Mobility Index. Including smartphones, Android accounted for 29% of commercial activations during the third quarter.
At Netop, we’re seeing an increase in customers turning to tablets and great diversity in how tablets are being used – as tools for field employees, mobile charts for hospital staffs and as point of sale devices. Our experience aligns with the responses to the Good survey: companies are not willing to sacrifice security for mobility.
“The rapid rise in custom app development illustrates that organizations are seeing mobility as a real opportunity for competitive advantage and security as a critical requirement in enabling trusted mobility.”
– Christy Wyatt, chairman and CEO, Good Technology
